Coldrock Entertainment Arts is a start-up production & publishing company that specializes in the reinvention of horror sub-genres. Its emphasis is on story over gore, tension over torture, disturbing over gratuitous, risk over cliche. Coldrock is the brainchild of independent writers/producers/directors Ed Coldrock & Sal Coldrock – the Coldrock Brothers. Coldrock’s brand of horror was inspired by the gritty films of the 1970s. While not overly gory, the subject-matter of those films was dark, heavy, disturbing, thematically provocative, quite often supernatural, and always, a matter of life and death and potential damnation. Coldrock’s mission is to remain true to those principles, as well as, to the independent spirit embodied by those cinematic masterpieces. Coldrock’s first abomination is a reinvention of the werewolf sub-genre. Unfortunately, for the poor werewolf, it’s sub-genre has only stagnated and worsened over time, whereas the vampire and zombie sub-genres have evolved and largely improved. The problem is, that pretty much, every werewolf story goes like this: One dark night, someone gets bit. On another dark night, that someone transforms. On another dark night, that someone is shot and killed with a silver bullet. The End. Will people please stop writing that? Really.
